{"data":{"id":"us-ak/as-24.60.178","jurisdiction":"us-ak","citation":"AS 24.60.178","heading":"Sanctions recommended by committee.","body":"(a) When the committee finds that a person has violated this chapter, the committee may recommend appropriate sanctions, including sanctions set out in (b) of this section.\n(b) The sanctions that the committee may recommend include\n(1) imposition of a civil penalty of not more than $5,000 for each offense or twice the amount improperly gained, whichever is greater;\n(2) divestiture of specified assets or withdrawal from specified associations;\n(3) additional, detailed disclosure, either as a public disclosure or as a confidential disclosure to the committee;\n(4) in the case of a legislative employee, suspension of employment with or without pay for a stated period of time or until stated conditions are met, or termination from legislative employment;\n(5) restitution of property or reimbursement of improperly received benefits;\n(6) public or private written reprimand;\n(7) censure, including, in the case of a legislator, removal from a leadership position or committee membership and a determination that the legislator will not be appointed to serve in a leadership position or on a committee during the remainder of that legislature;\n(8) placing the person on probationary status;\n(9) in the case of a legislator, expulsion from the house of the legislature;\n(10) any other appropriate measure.\n(c) In addition to or in place of a sanction recommended under (b) of this section, the committee may recommend that the subject of a complaint be required to pay all or a portion of the costs related to the investigation and adjudication of a complaint.","path":["Title 24.
