{"data":{"id":"us-al/ala.-code-12-15-114.1","jurisdiction":"us-al","citation":"Ala. Code § 12-15-114.1","heading":"Concurrent Jurisdiction for Criminal Offenses Committed by Children on Military Installations.","body":"(a) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the state shall exercise concurrent jurisdiction with the United States over a military installation of the United States Department of Defense located within this state in a matter relating to a violation of federal law by a child within the boundaries of that military installation, if both of the following criteria are met:\n(1) The United States Attorney or the United States District Court for the applicable district in this state waives exclusive jurisdiction.\n(2) The violation of federal law is also a crime under state law.\n(b) When concurrent jurisdiction has been established pursuant to subsection (a), the juvenile court shall have exclusive original jurisdiction over any case involving a child who is alleged to be delinquent as the result of an act committed within the boundaries of a military installation which is a crime under state law.","path":["Title 12 Courts.","Chapter 15 Juvenile Proceedings.","Article 1 General Provisions."],"source_url":"https://alison.legislature.state.al.us/code-of-alabama?section=12-15-114.1","current_through":"Act 2026-611","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T14:01:54Z","sha256":"18986289717c7a84fbe26ab6bed797bbccf1b0f3c883c31ea6ff9f0fccb94b13","source_id":"us-al","stale":false,"prev":"us-al/ala.-code-12-15-114","next":"us-al/ala.-code-12-15-115"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
