Code § 12-19-178","heading":"Distribution of Docket Fees - Misdemeanor Cases in District Court.","body":"(a) The following distribution shall be made of docket fees for misdemeanor cases in district court:\n(1) Seven dollars ($7) to the Police Officers’ Annuity Fund.\n(2) Sixteen dollars ($16) to the Fair Trial Tax Fund.\n(3) Sixty-four dollars ($64) to the State General Fund.\n(4) Five dollars ($5) to the county general fund.\n(5) An arrest fee of five dollars ($5) to the State General Fund or to the state funds prescribed by law; except, that the arrest fee shall be paid into the county general fund in cases initiated by county law enforcement officers.\n(6) Ten dollars ($10) to the District Attorney Fund or to the fund prescribed by law for district attorney fees.\n(7) Five dollars ($5) to the Peace Officers’ Standards and Training Fund, except that the five dollars ($5) provided herein for the Peace Officers’ Standards and Training Fund shall not be assessed and collected in conservation cases.\n(8) Five dollars ($5) to the Advanced Technology and Data Exchange Fund.\n(b) The additional five dollars ($5) assessed and collected in misdemeanor cases in district court, effective October 1, 2000, shall be distributed to the Fair Trial Tax Fund.","path":["Title 12 Courts.","Chapter 19 Court Finances.","Article 4 Costs, Fees, Fines, Etc., in Criminal Cases.","Division 2 Court Fees."],"source_url":"https://alison.legislature.state.al.us/code-of-alabama?section=12-19-178","current_through":"Act 2026-611","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T14:01:52Z","sha256":"3addf4cec4a235121a7a8bdc038107aec1056d2dee085ebb6e084352fa23c75c","source_id":"us-al","stale":false,"prev":"us-al/ala.-code-12-19-177","next":"us-al/ala.-code-12-19-179"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
