Code § 12-22-172","heading":"Stays of Execution on Confessed Judgments in Misdemeanors.","body":"In the case of a misdemeanor, the defendant may confess judgment, with sufficient sureties, for a fine and costs as if no appeal were taken, but execution thereon must be stayed pending the appeal, pursuant to the Alabama Rules of Appellate Procedure.
