Code § 13A-8-123","heading":"Civil Liability for Violations of Section 13A-8-121.","body":"(a) Any person who violates the provisions of subdivision (5) of Section 13A-8-121 shall, in addition to the criminal penalties provided in this article, be civilly liable to the aggrieved cable television company for an amount not to exceed the greater of the following amounts:\n(1) One thousand dollars; or\n(2) Double the amount of actual damages, if any, sustained by the cable television company.\n(b) Any person who violates the provisions of any subsection of Section 13A-8-121 for a second or subsequent time shall, in addition to the criminal penalties provided by this article, be civilly liable to the aggrieved cable television company for an amount not to exceed the greater of the following amounts:\n(1) Two thousand dollars; or\n(2) Double the amount of actual damages, if any, sustained by the cable television company.","path":["Title 13A Criminal Code.","Chapter 8 Offenses Involving Theft.","Article 6 Theft of Cable Television Services."],"source_url":"https://alison.legislature.state.al.us/code-of-alabama?section=13A-8-123","current_through":"Act 2026-611","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T14:01:52Z","sha256":"7cb64be6534ba1e929d6d180a6c5398ecf85cdfdbba90732b6dd12b45e3e2739","source_id":"us-al","stale":false,"prev":"us-al/ala.-code-13a-8-122","next":"us-al/ala.-code-13a-8-124"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
