Code § 15-19-7","heading":"Effect of Determination; Access to Records of Youthful Offender.","body":"(a) No determination made under the provisions of this chapter shall disqualify any youth for public office or public employment, operate as a forfeiture of any right or privilege or make him ineligible to receive any license granted by public authority, and such determination shall not be deemed a conviction of crime; provided, however, that if he is subsequently convicted of crime, the prior adjudication as youthful offender shall be considered.\n(b) The fingerprints and photographs and other records of a person adjudged a youthful offender shall not be open to public inspection unless the person adjudged a youthful offender is treated as an adult sex offender according to Section 15-20A-35; provided, however, that the court may, in its discretion, permit the inspection of papers or records.\n(c) Prosecutors representing the State of Alabama shall have access to fingerprints, photographs, and other records of a person adjudged a youthful offender contained in the court file regardless of the jurisdiction from which the file originates.","path":["Title 15 Criminal Procedure.","Chapter 19 Youthful Offenders."],"source_url":"https://alison.legislature.state.al.us/code-of-alabama?section=15-19-7","current_through":"Act 2026-611","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T14:01:52Z","sha256":"9626e9a09f8fbac7c8f592929c1cb3b18bff672de394b84f71f98772cbb49456","source_id":"us-al","stale":false,"prev":"us-al/ala.-code-15-19-6","next":"us-al/ala.-code-15-20-1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
