Code § 16-30D-6","heading":"Removal of Student Athlete Exhibiting Certain Identifiable Symptoms.","body":"(a) An athletic trainer, coach, or other responsible party may remove any student athlete who, during any athletic activity, exhibits any symptoms identifiable by the required training if the trainer, coach, or other responsible party reasonably believes that the student athlete’s symptoms are cardiac related. If a student athlete is removed from an athletic activity for the reason described in this subsection, an athletic trainer, coach, or other responsible party who observed the student athlete exhibit the symptoms shall attempt to notify the student athlete’s parent or guardian of those symptoms.\n(b) A student athlete who is removed from participation in an athletic activity pursuant to this section may not be permitted to return to play until he or she has been evaluated by a licensed physician and receives written clearance to return to play from the licensed physician.","path":["Title 16 Education.","Chapter 30D Availability and Use of Automated External Defibrillators in Schools.","Article 1 Tyrell Spencer Act."],"source_url":"https://alison.legislature.state.al.us/code-of-alabama?section=16-30D-6","current_through":"Act 2026-611","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T14:01:54Z","sha256":"6fd7c846ec756fc1a2be5ee53705a7435c74246e11f061f09d1a0916a5cccefd","source_id":"us-al","stale":false,"prev":"us-al/ala.-code-16-30d-5","next":"us-al/ala.-code-16-30d-7"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
