Code § 16-47-126","heading":"Repayment of Loans by Performing Certain Services.","body":"The loan or any part thereof shall be repaid by engaging in full-time clinical practice, as defined in the regulations of the board, in one of the following ways, in accordance with a contract approved by the Board of Medical Scholarship Awards:\n(1) Practice for a period equal to one year of practice for each year the individual received a loan in a community of less than 5,000 population which is in an area within Alabama identified by the board as medically underserved.\n(2) Practice for a period equal to one and one-fourth years of practice for each year the individual received a loan in a community of more than 5,000 population and less than 15,000 population which is in an area within Alabama identified by the board as medically underserved.\n(3) Practice for a period equal to one and one-half years of practice for each year the individual received a loan in a community of more than 15,000 but less than 50,000 population which is in an area within Alabama identified by the board as medically underserved.","path":["Title 16 Education.","Chapter 47 University of Alabama.","Article 4 University of Alabama School of Medicine.","Division 2 Scholarships."],"source_url":"https://alison.legislature.state.al.us/code-of-alabama?section=16-47-126","current_through":"Act 2026-611","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T14:01:51Z","sha256":"80a15976c3db6922be4e06bc62bfadf739b60600f3b78831bdf84644926c022d","source_id":"us-al","stale":false,"prev":"us-al/ala.-code-16-47-125","next":"us-al/ala.-code-16-47-126.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
