Code § 20-2-62","heading":"Qualifications for Certificate.","body":"The board may grant a Qualified Alabama Controlled Substances Registration Certificate to an assistant to physician who:\n(1) Is practicing with appropriate physician supervision as defined herein and in accordance with this article; Title 34, Chapter 24, Article 7, and all rules and regulations pertaining to physician supervision between qualified physicians and qualified assistants to physicians.\n(2) Submits proof of successful completion of a course or courses approved by the board which includes advanced pharmacology and prescribing trends relating to controlled substances.\n(3) Provides accurate and complete documentation of a minimum of 12 months of active, clinical employment with physician supervision following National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification.","path":["Title 20 Food, Drugs and Cosmetics.","Chapter 2 Controlled Substances.","Article 3A Assistants to Physcians Authority to Prescribe Controlled Substances."],"source_url":"https://alison.legislature.state.al.us/code-of-alabama?section=20-2-62","current_through":"Act 2026-611","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T14:01:53Z","sha256":"fc10b5fc34ed5f63ddc4ad34723cee7498e18a20edaa801cfd911a33e1df5da3","source_id":"us-al","stale":false,"prev":"us-al/ala.-code-20-2-61","next":"us-al/ala.-code-20-2-63"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
