Code § 27-34-23","heading":"Benefits - Generally.","body":"(a) A society authorized to do business in this state may provide for the payment of:\n(1) Death benefits in any form;\n(2) Endowment benefits;\n(3) Annuity benefits;\n(4) Temporary or permanent disability benefits as a result of disease or accident;\n(5) Hospital, medical, or nursing benefits due to sickness or bodily infirmity or accident; and\n(6) Monument or tombstone benefits to the memory of deceased members not exceeding in any case the sum of $300.00.\n(b) Such benefits may be provided on the lives of members or, upon application of a member, on the lives of a member’s family, including the member, the member’s spouse, and minor children, in the same or separate certificates.","path":["Title 27 Insurance.","Chapter 34 Fraternal Benefit Societies."],"source_url":"https://alison.legislature.state.al.us/code-of-alabama?section=27-34-23","current_through":"Act 2026-611","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T14:01:51Z","sha256":"e7f38544c6acc82d614cbddadb8a0a20cd0d1dc1e4b432718b7546529b589538","source_id":"us-al","stale":false,"prev":"us-al/ala.-code-27-34-22","next":"us-al/ala.-code-27-34-24"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
