Code § 30-3D-710","heading":"Foreign Support Agreement.","body":"(a) Except as otherwise provided in subsections (c) and (d), a tribunal of this state shall recognize and enforce a foreign support agreement registered in this state.\n(b) An application or direct request for recognition and enforcement of a foreign support agreement must be accompanied by:\n(1) a complete text of the foreign support agreement; and\n(2) a record stating that the foreign support agreement is enforceable as an order of support in the issuing country.\n(c) A tribunal of this state may vacate the registration of a foreign support agreement only if, acting on its own motion, the tribunal finds that recognition and enforcement would be manifestly incompatible with public policy.\n(d) In a contest of a foreign support agreement, a tribunal of this state may refuse recognition and enforcement of the agreement if it finds:\n(1) recognition and enforcement of the agreement is manifestly incompatible with public policy;\n(2) the agreement was obtained by fraud or falsification;\n(3) the agreement is incompatible with a support order involving the same parties and having the same purpose in this state, another state, or a foreign country if the support order is entitled to recognition and enforcement under this chapter in this state; or\n(4) the record submitted under subsection (b) lacks authenticity or integrity.\n(e) A proceeding for recognition and enforcement of a foreign support agreement must be suspended during the pendency of a challenge to or appeal of the agreement before a tribunal of another state or a foreign country.","path":["Title 30 Marital and Domestic Relations.","Chapter 3D Uniform Interstate Family Support Act.","Article 7 Support Proceeding Under Convention."],"source_url":"https://alison.legislature.state.al.us/code-of-alabama?section=30-3D-710","current_through":"Act 2026-611","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T14:01:53Z","sha256":"d5e5417f7963aeb1b4cdb339ed029281e67da40f03817aad52e3d4a55e43a2aa","source_id":"us-al","stale":false,"prev":"us-al/ala.-code-30-3d-709","next":"us-al/ala.-code-30-3d-711"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
