Code § 32-5A-85","heading":"Further Limitations on Driving on Left of Center of Roadway.","body":"(a) No vehicle shall be driven on the left side of the roadway under the following conditions:\n(1) When approaching or upon the crest of a grade or a curve in the highway where the driver’s view is obstructed within such distance as to create a hazard in the event another vehicle might approach from the opposite direction;\n(2) When approaching within 100 feet of or traversing any intersection or railroad grade crossing;\n(3) When the view is obstructed upon approaching within 100 feet of any bridge, viaduct, or tunnel.\n(b) The foregoing limitations shall not apply upon a one-way roadway, nor under the conditions described in Section 32-5A-80(a)(2), nor to the driver of a vehicle turning left into or from an alley, private road, or driveway.","path":["Title 32 Motor Vehicles and Traffic.","Chapter 5A Rules of the Road.","Article 4 Driving on and Use of Roadways Generally; Overtaking and Passing."],"source_url":"https://alison.legislature.state.al.us/code-of-alabama?section=32-5A-85","current_through":"Act 2026-611","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T14:01:51Z","sha256":"19adf64754acd3bdac70f862915145a209838de65139ae2e8ecbaf8a72870d63","source_id":"us-al","stale":false,"prev":"us-al/ala.-code-32-5a-84","next":"us-al/ala.-code-32-5a-86"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
