Code § 33-5B-5","heading":"Law Governing Vessel Covered by Certificate of Title.","body":"(a) The law of the jurisdiction under whose certificate of title a vessel is covered governs all issues relating to the certificate from the time the vessel becomes covered by the certificate until the vessel becomes covered by another certificate or becomes a documented vessel, even if no other relationship exists between the jurisdiction and the vessel or its owner.\n(b) A vessel becomes covered by a certificate of title when an application for the certificate and the applicable fee are delivered to the office in accordance with this chapter or to the governmental agency that creates a certificate in another jurisdiction in accordance with the law of that jurisdiction.","path":["Title 33 Navigation and Watercourses.","Chapter 5B Uniform Certificate of Title for Vessels Act."],"source_url":"https://alison.legislature.state.al.us/code-of-alabama?section=33-5B-5","current_through":"Act 2026-611","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T14:01:54Z","sha256":"9fc7643b1b6fdaf214d1d0184c51dcd15442404b7b9ac6853601db8afcd9eb68","source_id":"us-al","stale":false,"prev":"us-al/ala.-code-33-5b-4","next":"us-al/ala.-code-33-5b-6"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
