Code § 34-1A-8","heading":"General Applicability.","body":"(a) This chapter and the rules and regulations promulgated pursuant to this chapter shall have uniform force and effect throughout the state. A municipality or county shall not enact an order, ordinance, rule, or regulation requiring a person or business entity to obtain a certification from the municipality or county, other than proof of a valid license issued by the board.\n(b) This chapter shall not affect any general statute or municipal ordinance requiring a business license for a system installer.\n(c) Nothing in this chapter limits the power of a municipality, a county, or the state to require the submission and approval of plans and specifications or to regulate the quality and character of work performed by contractors through a system of licenses, fees, and inspections otherwise authorized by law for the protection of the public health and safety.","path":["Title 34 Professions and Businesses.","Chapter 1A Alarm System Installers."],"source_url":"https://alison.legislature.state.al.us/code-of-alabama?section=34-1A-8","current_through":"Act 2026-611","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T14:01:52Z","sha256":"9ba108e350eda049149c4f9ff01700cb140def45fdde087fe4e7f5840150a356","source_id":"us-al","stale":false,"prev":"us-al/ala.-code-34-1a-7","next":"us-al/ala.-code-34-1a-9"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
