Code § 34-21-89","heading":"Boards Permitted to Initiate Disciplinary Actions for Violations of Section; Requirements Before Action Taken.","body":"The Board of Nursing may initiate disciplinary actions against a certified registered nurse practitioner or a certified nurse midwife for violations of Section 34-21-86. The State Board of Medical Examiners may initiate disciplinary actions against a physician for violation of Section 34-21-86. Before either board takes such disciplinary action, it shall give the licensee against whom the action is contemplated a notice of the proposed action and an opportunity for a hearing before the respective board.
