Code § 34-36-16","heading":"Violations; Penalties.","body":"(a) Except as provided in Section 13A-9-111.1, it shall be unlawful for any person to violate this chapter regulating electrical contracting, and any person convicted of such violation shall be punished as a Class A misdemeanor.\n(b) It shall be unlawful, except as otherwise provided, on or after December 31, 2011, for a person not licensed as an electrical contractor to solicit, represent, seek to perform, or perform those tasks and functions that can only be performed by a licensed electrical contractor in accordance with this chapter.\n(c) Subsection (b) shall not apply to any person who holds a license or permit issued by a county or municipal government to perform the tasks and functions that can only be performed by a licensed electrical contractor and who performs those tasks and functions within the boundaries of the county or municipality that issued the license or permit.","path":["Title 34 Professions and Businesses.","Chapter 36 Electrical Contractors."],"source_url":"https://alison.legislature.state.al.us/code-of-alabama?section=34-36-16","current_through":"Act 2026-611","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T14:01:52Z","sha256":"8e3b0a82491e912c981a6b820cf0695fd3f1992192f51e73f98b2ad1a3d714f8","source_id":"us-al","stale":false,"prev":"us-al/ala.-code-34-36-15","next":"us-al/ala.-code-34-36-17"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
