Code § 38-7-10","heading":"License to Operate or Conduct Child-Care Facility - Investigation of Operation Without License; Report to Attorney General for Prosecution.","body":"Whenever the department is advised or has reason to believe that any person, group of persons or corporation is operating a child-care facility without a license or an approval or a six-month permit, it may make an investigation to ascertain the fact. If it finds that the child-care facility is being operated or has operated without a license or an approval or a six-month permit, it shall report the results of its investigation to the Attorney General and to the appropriate district attorney for prosecution; provided, however, that the department may delay in making said report to the Attorney General for a reasonable period of time, not to exceed 60 days, in order to give the person, group of persons or corporation operating the child-care facility reasonable opportunity to apply for a license or an approval or a six-month permit, and, therefore, to meet the standards prescribed in this chapter.","path":["Title 38 Public Welfare.","Chapter 7 Child Care."],"source_url":"https://alison.legislature.state.al.us/code-of-alabama?section=38-7-10","current_through":"Act 2026-611","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T14:01:51Z","sha256":"716df8a86a6109688127fba090c6cdadae19b367f9ae06807a735ce181f79cd6","source_id":"us-al","stale":false,"prev":"us-al/ala.-code-38-7-9","next":"us-al/ala.-code-38-7-11"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
