Code § 41-5A-23","heading":"Transfer of Powers, Functions, Property, Funds, Etc.; Officers and Employees; References to Prior Chapter 5.","body":"(a) The Department of the Examiners of Public Accounts created by Section 41-5A-1 succeeds to and is vested with the powers, duties, and functions of the Department of Examiners of Public Accounts created under Chapter 5 of this title, which is repealed.\n(b) The officers and employees of the Department of Examiners of Public Accounts created by Chapter 5 of this title shall be officers and employees of the Department of Examiners of Public Accounts created by Section 41-5A-1 without interruption of service or loss of benefits.\n(c) The property, funds, and records of the Department of Examiners of Public Accounts created by Chapter 5 of this title, are transferred to the Department of Examiners of Public Accounts created by Section 41-5A-1.\n(d) Any reference in any law to the Department of Examiners of Public Accounts under Chapter 5 of this title shall be deemed a reference to the Department of Examiners of Public Accounts created by Section 41-5A-1.","path":["Title 41 State Government.","Chapter 5A Examiners of Public Accounts."],"source_url":"https://alison.legislature.state.al.us/code-of-alabama?section=41-5A-23","current_through":"Act 2026-611","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T14:01:53Z","sha256":"c38d22ce23190a533cabeab27bc1527af4108c41edda2e4d2e7ef26a3e377ee4","source_id":"us-al","stale":false,"prev":"us-al/ala.-code-41-5a-22","next":"us-al/ala.-code-41-6-1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
