Code § 43-8-8","heading":"Effective Date; Transition Provisions.","body":"(a) This chapter takes effect on January 1, 1983.\n(b) Except as provided elsewhere in this chapter, on January 1, 1983:\n(1) The chapter applies to any wills of decedents dying thereafter;\n(2) An act of any personal representative or guardian done before January 1, 1983 in any proceeding and any accrued right is not impaired by this chapter.
