Code § 45-3-120.01","heading":"Definitions.","body":"For purposes of this article, the following words and terms shall have meanings ascribed to them as follows:\n(1) CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEE. An individual who is assigned to an on-going position, full or part-time, authorized by the county commission and whose salary is paid with funds allocated by the county commission, regardless of the source of those funds, and who must initially complete a probationary period.\n(2) FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE. An individual who works for the county on an on-going basis and is regularly scheduled to work the county’s established full-time work week as defined by the county commission.\n(3) PART-TIME EMPLOYEE. An individual who works for the county on an on-going basis but is regularly scheduled to work less than the hours established for full-time employees as defined by the county commission.\n(4) TEMPORARY EMPLOYEE. An individual who works for the county for a predetermined time period that is no more than 12 months.\n(5) UNCLASSIFIED EMPLOYEE. An individual who works for the county and whose employment is the same as a classified employee except that he or she serves at the pleasure of an elected official.\n(6) VACANCY.
