Code § 45-37-232.81","heading":"Appointment and Service of Special Reserve Deputies During Emergency Writ Conditions.","body":"(a) During an emergency writ condition, the Sheriff of Jefferson County may appoint special reserve deputies to assist in the execution of writs or similar actions involving the seizure or securing of real property.\n(b) Upon execution of a writ, a special reserve deputy shall make return on the writ as normally completed by the sheriff and shall return the writ to the appropriate clerk.\n(c) A special reserve deputy, when acting within the scope of his or her duties pursuant to this subpart and in compliance with the law, shall be entitled to the same immunities and legal protections provided to deputies under Section 36-22-3.","path":["Title 45 Local Laws.","Chapter 37 Jefferson County.","Article 23 Sheriff.","Part 3 Employees.","Subpart 5 Special Reserve Deputies"],"source_url":"https://alison.legislature.state.al.us/code-of-alabama?section=45-37-232.81","current_through":"Act 2026-611","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-10-10T05:41:29Z","sha256":"eac0563b4bc7719ecec6b9beb1471492248631be9effba7a99c1cdd7a31b34b9","source_id":"us-al","stale":false,"prev":"us-al/ala.-code-45-37-232.80","next":"us-al/ala.-code-45-37-232.82"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
