Code § 45-55-243.10","heading":"Period of Levy and Collection; Use of Tax Proceeds.","body":"The taxes levied by this subpart shall be levied on June 1, 2007 (or on such later date on which this subpart shall become law) and shall be levied and collected thereafter, as provided herein, without limit as to duration. The proceeds of the taxes levied and collected pursuant to this subpart shall be distributed each month as follows:\n(1) From and after June 8, 2007:\na. Seventy-five percent of the proceeds shall be distributed to the county board of education and the various city boards of education in the county on the same basis as provided for the distribution of funds among local boards of education under Section 40–12–4, or any successor provision of law.\nb. Twenty-five percent of the proceeds shall be distributed to the county for general purposes and uses.\n(2) From and after October 1, 2007:\na. Twelve thousand five hundred dollars ($12,500) of the proceeds shall be distributed to the county for distribution to agencies, entities, and organizations providing services to the general public in the county and eligible to receive appropriations of public funds from the county.\nb. Seventy-five percent of the remaining proceeds shall be distributed to the county board of education and the various city boards of education in the county on the same basis as provided for the distribution of funds among local boards of education under Section 40–12–4, or any successor provision of law\nc.
