Code Ann. § 12-30-202","heading":"Legislative intent","body":"Whereas, the means now provided for the employment of prison labor are inadequate to furnish a sufficient number of prisoners with diversified employment, it is declared to be the intent of this subchapter:\n\n(1) To further provide more adequate, regular, and suitable employment for the prisoners of this state, consistent with proper penal purposes;\n\n(2) To further utilize the labor of prisoners for self-maintenance and for reimbursing this state for expenses incurred by reason of their crimes and imprisonment; and\n\n(3) To effect the requisitioning and disbursement of prison products directly through established state authorities with no possibility of private profits therefrom.","path":["AR Code","Title 12","Chapter 30","Subchapter 2"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_ar_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:41Z","sha256":"85dab0e152997a647219465dff2d5dea2a4628d956eb4493c2e6b9990a61cfae","source_id":"us-ar","stale":false,"prev":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-12-30-201","next":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-12-30-203"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
