Code Ann. § 14-123-414","heading":"Trial date - Continuance","body":"(a) The suit shall stand for trial at the first term of the court after complaint may be filed, if four (4) weeks in the case of a nonresident or unknown defendant as set out in § 14-123-413 , or twenty (20) days in the case of resident defendants as set out in § 14-123-413 , shall expire either before the first day of the term or during the term of the court to which the suits are brought, respectively, unless a continuance is granted for good cause shown within the discretion of the court.\n\n(b) Continuances for good cause shown may be granted as to a part of the lands of defendants without affecting the duty of the court to dispose finally of the others as to whom no such continuances may be granted.","path":["AR Code","Title 14","Chapter 123","Subchapter 4"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_ar_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:41Z","sha256":"611cac522066aefc75cfbf4018e65564ea9e06000701114041c54b3089090b8c","source_id":"us-ar","stale":false,"prev":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-14-123-413","next":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-14-123-415"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
