Code Ann. § 14-173-102","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires:\n\n(1) \"City\" means any city of the first class, any city of the second class, or any incorporated town established by the laws of the State of Arkansas;\n\n(2) \"County\" means any county in the State of Arkansas;\n\n(3) \"Economic development grant program\" means a governmental program to award grants to nonprofit corporations to encourage the location, relocation, creation, or development of a business, industry, manufacturing facility, transportation facility, or other economic unit which creates jobs, employs people, or generates economic activity;\n\n(4) \"Grant\" means an award or transfer of public funds to a nonprofit corporation under a set of prescribed criteria to accomplish the public purpose of economic development in the city or in the county or in their surrounding areas; and\n\n(5) \"Grantee\" means the nonprofit corporation to whom the grant is awarded based on the prescribed criteria for awarding the funds under the establishing ordinance.","path":["AR Code","Title 14","Chapter 173"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_ar_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:41Z","sha256":"92e2c9b8e1ff2e73bef891938f16085203a0d6e3e6b0084cad3666c8b59d5d41","source_id":"us-ar","stale":false,"prev":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-14-173-101","next":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-14-173-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
