Code Ann. § 15-20-210","heading":"Underground aquifers","body":"It is found and determined by the General Assembly that:\n\n(1) The Sparta Aquifer is being depleted and damaged by salt water instrusion;\n\n(2) The preservation and protection of the Sparta Aquifer can best be accomplished through an interstate compact;\n\n(3) The Arkansas Natural Resources Commission is currently authorized to enter into interstate compacts to protect interstate waters occurring in streams, lakes, reservoirs, and natural or artificial channels or impoundments; and\n\n(4) The commission's authority should be expanded to allow it to enter into interstate compacts for the protection of underground aquifers.","path":["AR Code","Title 15","Chapter 20","Subchapter 2"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_ar_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:41Z","sha256":"8d109d50d5cd8c50cd94a29910d6ea4f184eb0ea28926a06ae9930a160ccfc77","source_id":"us-ar","stale":false,"prev":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-15-20-209","next":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-15-20-301"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
