Code Ann. § 16-10-1104","heading":"Appointment of interpreter","body":"(a) The Administrative Office of the Courts shall compile, maintain, and disseminate a certified registry of qualified interpreters for the courts.\n\n(b) When an interpreter is requested or when the court determines that a party to or a witness in a court proceeding has limited English proficiency, a qualified interpreter shall be appointed under procedures adopted by the Supreme Court.\n\n(c) An attorney, a clerk of court, employee or officer of a law enforcement agency, or a party to or a witness in a court proceeding shall notify the court as soon as the need for an interpreter is identified.\n\n(d) If a qualified interpreter is not available through the office's registry, the court may appoint an interpreter qualified under procedures adopted by the court, and the interpreter shall take the oath under § 16-10-1105 .","path":["AR Code","Title 16","Chapter 10","Subchapter 11"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_ar_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:41Z","sha256":"28b4810adf7816272b62234dccd7b17d00aeb3c1f5cf3d02f6cdd4653dc17f60","source_id":"us-ar","stale":false,"prev":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-16-10-1103","next":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-16-10-1105"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
