Code Ann. § 17-52-303","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in this subchapter:\n\n(1) \"Applicant\" means a person who is applying for registration or renewal of registration under this subchapter;\n\n(2) \"Client\" means a person who engages the services of a home inspector for the purpose of obtaining inspection of and a written report on the condition of a residential unit;\n\n(3) \"Competency examination\" means a written examination to establish whether an applicant possesses an adequate level of knowledge of home inspection procedures and components;\n\n(4) \"Home inspection\" means a visual inspection of a residential unit and its attached carports and garages and the operation of the building's systems by using the controls normally operated by the owner;\n\n(5) \"Home inspection report\" means a written report prepared for a fee and issued by a home inspector to document the results of a home inspection;\n\n(6) \"Home inspector\" means a person who engages in the business of performing home inspections for compensation and who in the pursuit of that business offers to inspect or inspects the condition of a private residence;\n\n(7) \"Person\" means any natural person; and\n\n(8) \"Residential unit\" means any dwelling from one (1) to four (4) units in design intended principally for residential purposes by one (1) or more persons.","path":["AR Code","Title 17","Chapter 52","Subchapter 3"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_ar_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:41Z","sha256":"1f200f5ee30a669aa0db832b0ee5e1da1feea42d26e77e478625d778ec586141","source_id":"us-ar","stale":false,"prev":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-17-52-302","next":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-17-52-304"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
