Code Ann. § 17-90-504","heading":"Authority","body":"The State Board of Optometry may undertake the functions and responsibilities to carry out the purposes of this subchapter, which may include any of the following:\n\n(1) Contracting with providers of treatment programs;\n\n(2) Receiving and evaluating reports of suspected impairment from any source;\n\n(3) Intervening in cases of verified impairment;\n\n(4) Referring impaired optometrists to treatment programs;\n\n(5) Monitoring the treatment and rehabilitation of impaired optometrists;\n\n(6) Providing posttreatment monitoring and support of rehabilitated impaired optometrists;\n\n(7) Suspending, limiting, or restricting the optometrist's license for the duration of the impairment; and\n\n(8) Performing such other activities as the board deems necessary to accomplish the purposes of this subchapter.","path":["AR Code","Title 17","Chapter 90","Subchapter 5"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_ar_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:41Z","sha256":"d7089a4900b8278ce3365a16ee44f96fbd7a1980db194874671996e3f8187139","source_id":"us-ar","stale":false,"prev":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-17-90-503","next":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-17-90-505"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
