Code Ann. § 18-17-202","heading":"Exclusions from application of chapter","body":"The following arrangements are not governed by this chapter:\n\n(1) Residence at an institution, public or private, if incidental to detention or the provision of medical, geriatric, educational, counseling, religious, or similar service;\n\n(2) Occupancy under a contract of sale of a dwelling unit or the property of which it is a part, if the occupant is the purchaser or a person who succeeds to his or her interest;\n\n(3) Occupancy by a member or a fraternal or social organization in the portion of a structure operated for the benefit of the organization;\n\n(4) Transient occupancy in a hotel, motel, or other accommodations subject to any sales tax on lodging;\n\n(5) Occupancy by an employee of a landlord whose right to occupancy is conditional upon employment in and about the premises;\n\n(6) Occupancy by an owner of a condominium unit or a holder of a proprietary lease in a cooperative;\n\n(7) Occupancy under a rental agreement covering the premises used by the occupant primarily for agricultural purposes; and\n\n(8) Residence, whether temporary or not, at a public or private charitable or emergency protective shelter.","path":["AR Code","Title 18","Chapter 17","Subchapter 2"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_ar_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:41Z","sha256":"5c387b76946820d4580e9851e696b11bb5c684961b9091c10eac3be4797c64e2","source_id":"us-ar","stale":false,"prev":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-18-17-201","next":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-18-17-203"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
