Code Ann. § 18-28-221","heading":"Retention of records","body":"(a) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (b), a holder required to file a report under § 18-28-207 shall maintain the records containing the information required to be included in the report for ten (10) years after the holder files the report, unless a shorter period is provided by rule of the administrator.\n\n(b) A business association or financial organization that sells, issues, or provides to others for sale or issue in this state, traveler's checks, money orders, or similar instruments other than third-party bank checks, on which the business association or financial organization is directly liable, shall maintain a record of the instruments while they remain outstanding, indicating the state and date of issue, for three (3) years after the holder files the report.","path":["AR Code","Title 18","Chapter 28","Subchapter 2"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_ar_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:41Z","sha256":"ee5936caed712bd1fba2fa7c3030e5823136007dab8aea76a90969a1d21c066b","source_id":"us-ar","stale":false,"prev":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-18-28-220","next":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-18-28-222"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
