Code Ann. § 20-15-2102","heading":"Findings","body":"It is found and determined by the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas that:\n\n(1) The process of approval for investigational drugs, biological products, and devices in the United States often takes many years;\n\n(2) Patients who have a terminal disease do not have the luxury of waiting until an investigational drug, biological product, or device receives final approval;\n\n(3) The standards of the United States Food and Drug Administration for the use of investigational drugs, biological products, and devices may deny the benefits of potentially life-saving treatments to terminally ill patients;\n\n(4) The State of Arkansas recognizes that patients who have a terminal disease have a fundamental right to attempt to pursue the preservation of their own lives by accessing available investigational drugs, biological products, and devices; and\n\n(5) The use of available investigational drugs, biological products, or devices is a decision that should be made by the patient with a terminal disease in consultation with his or her physician.","path":["AR Code","Title 20","Chapter 15","Subchapter 21"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_ar_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:41Z","sha256":"c6f8f3fd0c41c18868b3e762b2261e718ade52c36b46c60637f2d21cef0b4222","source_id":"us-ar","stale":false,"prev":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-20-15-2101","next":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-20-15-2103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
