Code Ann. § 20-18-701","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in this subchapter:\n\n(1) \"Child\" means a person under eighteen (18) years of age for whom paternity has not been established;\n\n(2) \"Court\" means a court in this state or another state or territory of the United States of competent subject matter jurisdiction;\n\n(3) [Repealed.]\n\n(4) \"Father\" means the biological male parent of a child;\n\n(5) \"Putative father\" means any man not legally presumed or adjudicated to be the biological father of a child but who claims or is alleged to be the father of the child;\n\n(6) \"Registrant\" means a person who has registered pursuant to this subchapter and who is claiming to be the father of a child;\n\n(7) \"Registry\" means the Putative Father Registry; and\n\n(8) \"Rules\" means rules promulgated by the Department of Health for the purpose of implementing this subchapter.","path":["AR Code","Title 20","Chapter 18","Subchapter 7"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_ar_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:41Z","sha256":"ffac10f14808d30dcc0b3fa041badbd4d09008835e5b274c6ba3041e0c32a576","source_id":"us-ar","stale":false,"prev":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-20-18-604","next":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-20-18-702"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
