Code Ann. § 20-19-401","heading":"Findings","body":"The General Assembly finds that:\n\n(1) Wolves and wolf-dog hybrids are now present in this state but remain unregulated;\n\n(2) The Compendium of Animal Rabies Prevention and Control advises that no vaccination has been approved for use in wolves or wolf-dog hybrids;\n\n(3) However, wolves and dogs are scientifically classified as the same species;\n\n(4) Off- and extra-label use of vaccines approved for use in dogs are widely used to vaccinate wolves and wolf-dog hybrids, even by the United States Government, to prevent diseases such as rabies;\n\n(5) Failure to vaccinate wolves and wolf-dog hybrids raises the possibility of creating a large pool of animals that could serve as reservoirs for rabies; and\n\n(6) Due to the neglect and irresponsibility of their owners, some wolves and wolf-dog hybrids could pose a threat to public safety in this state.","path":["AR Code","Title 20","Chapter 19","Subchapter 4"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_ar_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:41Z","sha256":"688fd99768fa855b2046f0307d471c5768c94398cdbb31758732e5635f83c6ac","source_id":"us-ar","stale":false,"prev":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-20-19-312","next":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-20-19-402"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
