Code Ann. § 20-47-810","heading":"Ninety-six-hour maximum time of detention","body":"(a) An individual with a behavioral health impairment who is admitted to a crisis stabilization unit under a crisis intervention protocol under this subchapter shall have a final disposition within a maximum of ninety-six (96) hours or remain on a voluntary basis.\n\n(b) If the individual with a behavioral health impairment cannot be stabilized within ninety-six (96) hours of entering into a crisis intervention protocol, a participating partner may institute commitment proceedings as authorized under § 20-47-201 et seq.\n\n(c) As part of the discharge process after the ninety-six-hour stay has expired, a crisis stabilization unit shall provide the individual with a follow-up treatment plan and a request that the individual utilize the treatment plan, including subsequent appointments with a mental health professional.","path":["AR Code","Title 20","Chapter 47","Subchapter 8"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_ar_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:41Z","sha256":"fcd1c8b288b1ed9f2063afbfffa68c5da72393df665f3c21a29ce33e78f337cf","source_id":"us-ar","stale":false,"prev":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-20-47-809","next":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-20-47-811"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
