Code Ann. § 20-6-114","heading":"Presumptions not created - Death that results from withholding or withdrawal of health care does not constitute suicide, euthanasia, homicide, mercy killing, or assisted suicide","body":"(a) This subchapter does not create a presumption concerning the intention of an individual who has not made or who has revoked an advance directive.\n\n(b) Notwithstanding any term of an insurance policy or annuity to the contrary, a death resulting from the withholding or withdrawal of health care in accordance with this subchapter does not constitute a suicide or homicide or legally impair or invalidate an insurance policy or an annuity providing a death benefit.\n\n(c) The withholding or withdrawal of medical care from a principal in accordance with this subchapter does not constitute a suicide, euthanasia, homicide, mercy killing, or assisted suicide.","path":["AR Code","Title 20","Chapter 6","Subchapter 1"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_ar_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:41Z","sha256":"3fecca76ed6033ff74512bccbced2ba681bf6c219323fa4066efa3296a14b876","source_id":"us-ar","stale":false,"prev":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-20-6-113","next":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-20-6-115"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
