Code Ann. § 22-9-802","heading":"Legislative intent","body":"The General Assembly intends that this subchapter:\n\n(1) Provide for the efficient procurement of goods and services by governmental units;\n\n(2) Promote the economical, nondiscriminatory, and efficient administration and completion of state and state-funded or state-assisted construction projects;\n\n(3) Provide for fair and open competition for construction contracts, grants, tax abatements, and tax credits awarded by governmental units;\n\n(4) Prohibit requirements for certain terms in construction contracts awarded by governmental units or supported through grants and tax subsidies and abatements by governmental units;\n\n(5) Prohibit expenditure of public funds under certain conditions;\n\n(6) Prohibit certain terms in procurement documents for certain expenditures by governmental units involving public facilities; and\n\n(7) Provide powers and duties for certain public officers, employees, and contractors.","path":["AR Code","Title 22","Chapter 9","Subchapter 8"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_ar_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:41Z","sha256":"7494173c4f262c0b7d1deac5fbc456d82b8375bd0cad2d174279906936bac732","source_id":"us-ar","stale":false,"prev":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-22-9-801","next":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-22-9-803"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
