Code Ann. § 23-79-1702","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in this subchapter:\n\n(1) \"Board\" means the State Board of Finance;\n\n(2) \"Choosing Wisely initiative\" means the initiative established by the American Board of Internal Medicine Foundation that seeks to advance a national dialogue on avoiding wasteful or unnecessary medical tests, treatments, and procedures;\n\n(3) \"Emerging therapies\" means therapeutic services that have not historically been covered but for which new evidence may demonstrate therapeutic enhancements or opportunities for cost avoidance, or both;\n\n(4) \"Evidence\" means peer-reviewed objective studies of emerging therapies; and\n\n(5) \"Regenerative injection therapy\" means a nonsurgical orthopedic treatment performed by injecting into a joint or soft tissue a substance that stimulates the growth of normal cells and tissues for the purpose of strengthening or repairing a painful or injured joint or connective tissue.","path":["AR Code","Title 23","Chapter 79","Subchapter 17"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_ar_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:41Z","sha256":"60a20afd7e3458eed2d617de8868954e67dc2a690cd68a997b2535b028f63e22","source_id":"us-ar","stale":false,"prev":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-23-79-1701","next":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-23-79-1703"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
