Code Ann. § 23-87-103","heading":"Definitions","body":"For the purpose of this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires:\n\n(1) \"Credit disability insurance\" means insurance on a debtor to provide indemnity for payments becoming due on a specific loan or other credit transaction while the debtor is disabled as defined in the policy;\n\n(2) \"Credit life insurance\" means insurance on the life of a debtor pursuant to or in connection with a specific loan or other credit transaction for a period of time not to exceed ten (10) years;\n\n(3) \"Creditor\" means the lender of money or vendor or lessor of goods, services, property, rights, or privileges for which payment is arranged through a credit transaction, or any successor to the right, title, or interest of the lender, vendor, or lessor;\n\n(4) \"Debtor\" means a borrower of money or a purchaser or lessee of goods, services, property, rights, or privileges for which payment is arranged through a credit transaction; and\n\n(5) \"Indebtedness\" means the total amount payable by a debtor to a creditor in connection with a loan or other credit transaction.","path":["AR Code","Title 23","Chapter 87"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_ar_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:41Z","sha256":"2c080a21d0365c2b1dc3c86b424e1a30547f537e88468e62851ccb3a81f7c513","source_id":"us-ar","stale":false,"prev":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-23-87-102","next":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-23-87-104"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
