Code Ann. § 3-8-801","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in this subchapter:\n\n(1) \"Canvasser\" means a person who circulates a local option election petition or a part or parts of a local option election petition to obtain the signatures of petitioners thereto;\n\n(2) \"Intoxicating liquor\" means any beverage containing more than one-half of one percent (0.5%) of alcohol by weight;\n\n(3) \"Paid canvasser\" means a person who is paid or with whom there is an agreement to pay money or anything of value before or after a signature on a local option election petition is solicited in exchange for soliciting or obtaining a signature on a petition;\n\n(4) \"Petition part\" means a petition signature sheet containing the information required under this subchapter;\n\n(5) \"Petitioner\" means a person who signs a petition requesting a local option election;\n\n(6) \"Registered voter\" means a person who is registered at the time of signing the petition pursuant to Arkansas Constitution, Amendment 51; and\n\n(7) \"Sponsor\" means a person who arranges for the circulation of a local option election petition or who files a local option election petition with the official charged with verifying the signatures.","path":["AR Code","Title 3","Chapter 8","Subchapter 8"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_ar_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:41Z","sha256":"b5f8d65cd7cfa13d3dd79dfd6516aab245d387f6c8c3af09670de117f329049c","source_id":"us-ar","stale":false,"prev":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-3-8-715","next":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-3-8-802"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
