Code Ann. § 5-53-109","heading":"Intimidating a witness","body":"(a) A person commits the offense of intimidating a witness if he or she threatens a witness or a person he or she believes may be called as a witness with the purpose of: (1) Influencing the testimony of that person; (2) Inducing that person to avoid legal process summoning that person to testify; or (3) Inducing that person to absent himself or herself from an official proceeding to which that person has been legally summoned. (b) Intimidating a witness is a Class B felony. Amended by Act 2019, No. 1017,§ 2, eff. 7/24/2019.
