Code Ann. § 5-54-203","heading":"Making a terrorist threat","body":"(a) A person commits the offense of making a terrorist threat if, with the purpose to intimidate or coerce a civilian population or to influence the policy of a government or a unit of government by intimidation or coercion, the person in any manner knowingly threatens to commit or causes to be committed a terrorist act and thereby causes a reasonable expectation or fear of the imminent commission of a terrorist act or of another terrorist act.\n\n(b) It is not a defense to a prosecution under this section that at the time the person made the terrorist threat, unknown to him or her it was impossible to carry out the threat, nor is it a defense that the threat was not made to a person who was a subject or intended victim of the threatened act.\n\n(c) Making a terrorist threat is a Class A felony.","path":["AR Code","Title 5","Chapter 54","Subchapter 2"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_ar_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:41Z","sha256":"28cf8b0369130ac8db69e10b7863b3257b105f147f910a655b5c098d5705a5ae","source_id":"us-ar","stale":false,"prev":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-5-54-202","next":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-5-54-204"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
