Code Ann. § 5-63-305","heading":"Debt adjusting law - Exclusions","body":"The following persons are not considered a debt adjuster for the purposes of this subchapter:\n\n(1) An attorney at law;\n\n(2) A bank, fiduciary, or financing and lending institution as authorized and admitted to transact business in this state and performing credit and financial adjusting services in the regular course of its principal business;\n\n(3) A title insurer or abstract company, while doing an escrow business;\n\n(4) An employer, for its employees;\n\n(5) A judicial officer or another person acting pursuant to court order;\n\n(6) A nonprofit organization giving debt management service without fee or charge or with a fee if the fee is in an amount not to exceed the amount of actual expenses incurred in offering the debt management service; and\n\n(7) An association, for its members.","path":["AR Code","Title 5","Chapter 63","Subchapter 3"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_ar_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:41Z","sha256":"90a31825e642c66449848e514264456c7910693511b0a355bca796b32a04c9c8","source_id":"us-ar","stale":false,"prev":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-5-63-304","next":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-5-64-1001"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
