Code Ann. § 5-64-1201","heading":"Possession","body":"(a) It is unlawful for any person to possess a substance listed in subsection (b) of this section: (1) With the intent to breathe, inhale, ingest, or use the substance for the purpose of: (A) Causing a condition of intoxication, elation, euphoria, dizziness, stupefaction, or dulling of the senses; or (B) In any manner changing, distorting, or disturbing his or her audio, visual, or mental processes; or (2) Who purposely is under the influence of the substance. (b) This subchapter applies to the following substances: (1) Nitrous oxide, commonly known as \"laughing gas\"; (2) Any compound, liquid, or chemical that contains nitrous oxide; or (3) Any amyl nitrite, commonly known as \"poppers\" or \"snappers\". (c) Upon conviction, a person who violates this section is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.
