Code Ann. § 6-16-143","heading":"Cardiopulmonary resuscitation instruction","body":"(a) Beginning with the 2014-2015 school year, a public school student in grades nine through twelve (9-12) shall be trained in quality psychomotor skill bases in cardiopulmonary resuscitation before the student graduates from high school.\n\n(b) The course shall not be a certification process but shall follow the standards established by the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross, or another nationally recognized organization that uses current, evidence-based emergency cardiac care guidelines and incorporates psychomotor skill development in the instruction and the use of automated external defibrillators.","path":["AR Code","Title 6","Chapter 16","Subchapter 1"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_ar_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:41Z","sha256":"af9e65ca3cd0a59a089b6977528a3ea47d3eecedd278117fe0a5cd8feb6d8340","source_id":"us-ar","stale":false,"prev":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-6-16-142","next":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-6-16-144"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
