Code Ann. § 6-60-1501","heading":"Legislative intent","body":"The General Assembly finds that:\n\n(1) The First Amendment to the United States Constitution and Article 2, § 6, of the Arkansas Constitution protect the right of free speech, including the speech of students enrolled in state-supported institutions of higher education and other members of campus communities;\n\n(2) Student expression and the exchange of ideas is the primary way in which institutions of higher education fulfill educational missions; and\n\n(3) It is a matter of statewide interest to protect the rights of students and other members of campus communities to exercise their freedom of speech rights on campuses of state-supported institutions of higher education, while also recognizing the right of those state-supported institutions of higher education to enact reasonable restrictions that preserve their ability to fulfill their educational missions.","path":["AR Code","Title 6","Chapter 60","Subchapter 15"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_ar_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:41Z","sha256":"92982d5a7915b7197f4ababb643161519a8a4622dbc06c1bd5e8fe3f2b05789b","source_id":"us-ar","stale":false,"prev":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-6-60-1407","next":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-6-60-1502"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
