Code Ann. § 8-7-202","heading":"Purpose","body":"It is the purpose of this subchapter and it is declared to be the policy of this state to:\n\n(1) Protect the public health and safety, the health of living organisms, and the environment from the effects of the improper, inadequate, or unsound management of hazardous waste;\n\n(2) Establish a program of regulation over the generation, storage, transportation, treatment, and disposal of hazardous waste;\n\n(3) Assure the safe and adequate management of hazardous waste within this state;\n\n(4) Qualify the Division of Environmental Quality to adopt, administer, and enforce a hazardous waste program pursuant to the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of 1976, 42 U.S.C. § 6901 et seq.; and\n\n(5) Afford the people of the State of Arkansas a voice in the permitting of hazardous waste facilities within their respective counties.","path":["AR Code","Title 8","Chapter 7","Subchapter 2"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_ar_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:41Z","sha256":"af2597770ceb230198bee14eaea52299cceeb2f9c5b04fef1b552f4c8af770cd","source_id":"us-ar","stale":false,"prev":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-8-7-201","next":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-8-7-203"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
