Code Ann. § 8-7-602","heading":"Disposal or storage in above-ground facilities","body":"(a) In the event that low-level radioactive waste is required to be disposed of or stored in the State of Arkansas, the low-level radioactive waste shall be disposed of or stored only in an above-ground facility.\n\n(b) An above-ground facility shall be so designed, constructed, and maintained as to prevent any accidental release of the low-level radioactive waste or any harmful substance in the above-ground facility as a result of flooding, earthquakes, tornadoes, or other occurrences, to permit effective surveillance of the above-ground facility and the low-level radioactive waste in the above-ground facility, and to permit retrievability of any low-level radioactive waste stored in the above-ground facility for testing and other appropriate purposes.","path":["AR Code","Title 8","Chapter 7","Subchapter 6"],"source_url":"https://oss-data-us.vaquill.ai/v2026.08/us_ar_statutes.parquet","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:41Z","sha256":"d84ff34084d5e613d8528cd0a17ce5b6c60c2fea612dfa61fcb79470b51a2074","source_id":"us-ar","stale":false,"prev":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-8-7-601","next":"us-ar/ark.-code-ann.-8-7-603"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
