{"data":{"id":"us-az/a.r.s.-25-1331","jurisdiction":"us-az","citation":"A.R.S. § 25-1331","heading":"Definitions","body":"In this article:\n\n1. \"Application\" means a request under the convention by an obligee or obligor, or on behalf of a child, made through a central authority for assistance from another central authority.\n\n2. \"Central authority\" means the entity designated by the United States or a foreign country described in section 25-1202, paragraph 5, subdivision (d) to perform the functions specified in the convention.\n\n3. \"Convention support order\" means a support order of a tribunal of a foreign country described in section 25-1202, paragraph 5, subdivision (d).\n\n4. \"Direct request\" means a petition filed by an individual in a tribunal of this state in a proceeding involving an obligee, obligor or child residing outside the United States.\n\n5. \"Foreign central authority\" means the entity designated by a foreign country described in section 25-1202 to perform the functions specified in the convention.\n\n6. \"Foreign support agreement\":\n\n(a) Means an agreement for support in a record to which all of the following apply:\n\n(i) It is enforceable as a support order in the country of origin.\n\n(ii) It has been formally drawn up or registered as an authentic instrument by a foreign tribunal or authenticated by, or concluded, registered or filed with, a foreign tribunal.\n\n(iii) It may be reviewed and modified by a foreign tribunal.\n\n(b) Includes a maintenance arrangement or authentic instrument under the convention.\n\n7. \"United States central authority\" means the secretary of the United States department of health and human services.","path":["Title 25 Marital and Domestic Relations"],"source_url":"https://www.azleg.gov/ars/25/01331.htm","current_through":"2026-09-04","vintage":"2026-08-09","retrieved_at":"2026-09-04T00:49:56Z","sha256":"003a818f32df026d60f72a25af457f328293d117c5799fa09895a93693d10e78","source_id":"us-az","stale":true,"prev":"us-az/a.r.s.-25-1316","next":"us-az/a.r.s.-25-1332"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
