The department may issue a temporary driver permit to an applicant for a driver license. The permit allows the driver to operate a motor vehicle while the department is completing its investigation and determining all facts relative to the applicant's privilege to receive a driver license.\n\nB. The permittee shall have the permit in the permittee's immediate possession while operating a motor vehicle.
